Making Mommy Friends

It can happen anywhere - at the park, the grocery store, the coffee shop - you strike up casual conversation with another Mommy with their baby in tow.  She seems kinda cool, and your babies are about the same age - so now what?  "Hope to see you around" you say.  But what you really wanted to say was "Wanna get together sometime, grab some coffee?"

How do you get from checkout line chit-chat to setting up playdates?  It's not so easy says one Mommy-friend.  According to this new-to-the-city mother of a two-year old, it takes 7 meetings before you can exchange numbers "without them looking at you like you have two heads!"

It can't take THAT long can it?  Besides, what are the chances you're going to run into someone 7 times at the grocery store?  Not in Chicago anyway! There must be a better way to be cool and still make friends.

Almost desperate for more adult talk - I'm about ready to start the return of the early 20th Century Calling Cards - but it looks like Berry Berry Sweet is one step ahead of me.  With their super trendy Mommy Cards.

"Hand them out to your babysitter, friends, family, or other moms
you want to schedule play dates with! With note space on the back
side to write important notes, such as play date reminders, your
            child's allergies, medications, and more."
